Three Monitors - Computer Setup

Comments

Yes sir. Ducky Shine v1.
Wow that's awesome! What are the three monitors that you have showing the Avengers?
I am using 2 Dell 2007FPs and a Dell U3011 for a 4960X1600 resolution.
Thanks man. Wish I was better at taking photos. I don't have a DSLR and couldn't really capture the well lit photos well. Plus, the recessed lights are all Philips Hue, so their output is relatively low.
I see you have a nest thermostat. Is that hooked up to your tablet on the first picture? That's awesome.
Yes, we bought an older home built in 1974. It's not insulated well and it's hot in Texas, 100 degrees this afternoon. The A/C was stressing me out a bit at work and so just knowing when it's on, how long it runs each day, and the control while we're away has been amazing. That's the android app running on my S4 on the desk.
Is it hard to set up the nest thermostat? I saw them for sale at best buy, and I may go run over and get one. That's awesome, as I live in Florida and have the same problem as you.
Can you explain how you use a PC as a NAS? I'm a little nooby, but I'm curious because I want to set up a system similar to yours in my new house I'm moving into in the next month.
Thats pretty cool. I'll have to figure out what XBMC is ant what Maraschino is.
Thanks again for the response!
I thought FreeNAS is discontinued or something like that. NAS4Free is supposed to replace it?
Really?! I got downvoted for an bookmark? Stay classy coolcomputersetups.
I'm curious what the model of the TV is..
Panasonic ST60. Not sure what size, but I'm going to say 60" or 65". One of the best TVs in years. And THE best for under 1k. If you don't care about the 3D part, the S60 is amazing for a little bit cheaper. I personally have the S60 and LOVE it. I came from a UT50 last year and do not miss the 3D feature.
MANCAVE!! Awesome. Love the Fenders.
That sure looks like A LOT of work setting up, and a lot of good planning too. Awesome setup. I was contemplating setting up freenas/nas4free/unraid etc. But decided against it and stuck with windows 8 for easy of use. Ended up kinda shitty with terrible performance, I think mainly because of the cheap SATA cards I'm using
I wish I could wire up my home with cat 6. Too much work though =/
Man, it was a lot of work. My old man is an electrician and we spent three, fifteen hour days in the attic, in July, ha. It was worth it, but not sure we could do it over again if we had to.
May I ask what your career/business is? Beautiful setup btw man, beautiful.
Like it. Please could you post a link to your backgrounds?
I would mount those satellites and center on the wall.
