Thanks friend! It really isn't that hard to do and is a cheap project. I enjoy doing stuff like this so the few hours that it took didn't bother me in the slightest.
Yeah it doesn't take much money-wise to do this stuff, just some patience and perseverance. Seeing progress pictures tempt me to do it myself, but I move my stuff around so much that it would take up a lot of my time, heh.
Did you have to take the back of the monitor off to remove the base of the monitor? I've heard that you don't have to for the X-Star version but you do with the QNIX version (although internally they are the same).
My favorite part is how your printer fits perfectly on top of your subwoofer.
Oh that is sad. Same printer, different subwoofer.
Do you have a source for the wallpaper?
Haha, still good for me. I think it'll look good on my phone! Thanks for uploading :D
It really is a nice wallpaper. I don't think I have ever kept a wallpaper longer than a month or two. This has been on my computer since last May I believe.
Wow this is great. I didn't know about the mount option on the bottom of my power bar until I saw this. Very inventive organizing. Moving that right side speaker away makes a big difference, allows for the sense of air flow. Maybe consider attaching the speaker wire to the angle where the walls meet, or making 90 degree turns on the wall with that cabling?
A lot of items have mounting options. Nearly every surge protector has them. My Motorola Surfboard SB6141 and Asus RT-N12(modem and router) both had mounting options on them. I elected for the hanger strap though because it was easier and I feel it is more secure.
Oh! Great idea! Sorry I am a visual person. Underneath the desk is the coax cable. It is really thick and really stiff, I don't want to bend it too much. I started to look online about more flexible coax cables to do just what you showed but I didn't get too far. Not too worried about it.
Why does it seem like everyone uses this keyboard? can you get the keys lit up?
No this is a Ducky Zero. The Ducky Shine is the one that lights up.
Cool, thanks for the info. Is there any reason that people prefer this keyboard, I seem to see it a lot.
Duckys are the "cool" keyboards to get. Obviously if you are just looking into computer gaming you want a mechanical keyboard. Ducky's aren't the cream of the crop but they are close. It helps as well that they are pretty nice looking and well built.
Cool, I didn't even realize that there was a big difference in keyboards!
Looks great! What desk is this?
Thanks, im in need of a desk that will fit in my closet and i like this style.
Also the Micke is a narrow computer desk from Ikea, except it has drawers (I love it).
The Micke is cool looking but not long enough im afraid.
You're welcome. I originally had a triple monitor setup so it was great. However if you want to use a desk mounted monitor stand I wouldn't recommend anything more than 1 monitor like I had now. The desk is super cheap particle board and I was terrified it would be falling or breaking at any moment. If you wanted to mount them to the desk I would definitely go with something sturdier.
I'm so happy to see this configuration is working for you. I was literally trekking out to my nearest IKEA tomorrow to pick up the 7.5ft Linnmon, two of those Ullriks, a leg and the Signum cable organizer.
Awesome! It really is a good setup. I am looking to go even smaller with my case in the future. We will see.
This is really just impressive. This is what I always dreamed of my desk looking like. Great job!
Nice work! I just recently did a bit of cable management myself, but it doesn't look nearly as good as this. I'm definitely going to need to get a desk/table similar to yours though, I'm really digging it.
My IKEA doesn't open until this fall. Nowhere to buy them. Plus I wanted something a little more organized
I love these kind of posts ! Thanks for the inspiration !
It is just a little battery powered green display Casio clock. Found it dumpster diving in my apartment complex. The green matched my mouse mat and keyboard so I kept it.
Thanks for this. Always seeing the clean and finished product in this coolcomputersetups is nice, but it's great to see how you got there so others can get some ideas to make their own gaming setup this clean.
Spray paint that access panel.
Electrical panel off to the left. that primer grey just looks horrible on a white wall.
Oh yeah I agree! We are renting an apartment though so no go... Thought about putting a picture there but never have.
Maybe you could wrap it in a vinyl, wallpaper, fabric or hang a picture over it? other than that, nice, clean station.
We are probably renewing our lease so I have another year or so of being here. Covering it up will eventually happen I am sure.
That looks really good. Have you considered adding a 90 degree coax adapter and a raceway I think it would complete that one last cable.
Didn't even know about these. Thanks!
Nice work. I'm gonna have to reference this in a few weeks when I start on my own desk.
Haha, that's pretty strange that the power outlet and the wall jack are placed so awkwardly, reminds me off my old house. Great work! If you hadn't already done so, I'd find some zip ties to tie the two other black cables to the desk leg, which is what I did. I don't know, would hide them better from the angle I suppose.
Yeah, my biggest zip tie will not full wrap around the leg though. Currently looking into this. We will see.
They are holding up well! Surprisingly. First thing I thought of as well. If it ever becomes a problem nothing a rubber band can't fix. They plug in nice and snug though, nothing was or is loose.
This is really a good idea I've been struggling with my own cable management I got one of those metal brackets for under your Ikea desk to help but it has not been very useful to me it hangs to low. I think I am going to find a way to mount modem and router and maybe some other things as you did.
Our builds are so similar that it's downright creepy. We have the same processor, case, monitor, desk, speakers and amp. The only difference is that my stuff is mainly white. Two questions though. Is your monitor arm also from Monoprice? Also is your amp off, or did you remove the LEDs from the amp? I really can't stand the blue led when my color scheme is red, white, and black.
Watcha mining there? Maybe some doge?
What kinda hash rate do you get with the 7950?
The speaker cable on the right kills it.
Like I said in the gallery, it will be fixed
27 pictures detailing one man's attempt to hide cables; srsly. No, srsly.
