What uni is this? Those dorms look NICE. (btw what keyboard is that?)
CM Storm Quickfire TK Rapid - Brown Switches
Oh shoot, that's my bad. Sorry for that.
I stayed in Downs A in 2008, good times.
Something about the view from the window let me know it had to be in the UK somewhere.
Yea, same Webcam's Logitech 720p Webcam.
Hull Uni, Lawns halls campus I think. Would be able to make a pretty solid guess on more specifics but then we're getting into creepy territory.
I was in Lambert A last year, where are you? It's also awkward because I have the same bed covers as you.
I was in Downs Hall in 2004. They've done out some of the furniture since then, but that balcony is unmistakable.
You have a lot of cool stuff, where do you live? when are you usually out of the apartment?
I see what you're doing there.
I have the same bedsheets
Same here, looks like you guys went to ikea!
Hahaha, I knew there was something in the pic that I own
All of us, and Anders from Workaholics too!
Everybody has those bedsheets! Me too!
How did you get the map of battlefield so nicely filled to take up to whole right screen? Only way I know to put it on my second monitor is by using the browser.
Hit F11 to fullscreen it.
Btw what do you use for case lighting, those look nice and I might get some.
How do you use the browser to do it?
As you join a server you will see a blue bar in your browser. On the right side of this bar there is button called battle screen. This will show you a realtime map of you current game.
Wow that is so cool I would so live in that it's awesome.
Looks so clean but yet so many monitors O.o
How much do you like that TK Rapid in comparison to other keyboards you may have owned? I used an MX brown keyboard for a week and love it. Really considering buying that same keyboard you have.
I love it. I have a razer blackwidow with blues at home, and I like the blues but wasn't a huge fan of the keyboard it self. This time round I went with browns, because I tried my friends and found them better for all purpose use. As for the keyboard itself I wanted something smaller than the blackwidow, but didn't want to sacrifice my NUM pad the TK combines the best of both worlds and it's pretty cheap compared to similar quality keyboards on the market.
What is your main monitor?
Nice! why do you call it a 'portrait' monitor?
'portrait' just indicates the orientation of the monitor. The other monitors are oriented in the more common 'landscape' orientation.
Thanks for the response. Still a noob
What tasks are these usually used for?
Good for reading, coolcomputersetups, programming. Basically anything where you have lots of lines of text, because you can see more of them at once.
Lovely set up man. Nice and clean but not the crazy sterile minimalism some around here have. I dig it.
This is pretty much my dream set up.
On your keyboard, how loud are the brown switches? Why did you go with the brown switches? That's a clean set up you have going there!
On the browns the switches themselves make no noise at all, but the keys still make a decent clack when they strike the base of the keyboard. In general, the blues go click clack, the browns just go clack so they are marginally quieter.
Sorry, I got a bit carried away with the camera.
His gaming setup is his dorm, and he posting all he uses within it. But I get what you are saying.
What dock are you using for the Nexus 4?
There on a stand. It's just the legs of the stand go under the mouse mat.
Is it one stand for both monitors? I just can't see the stand for the monitor for the right. Been looking for something like this..
Do you have a link for the mount(s) you used? I'm in the market and am finding it difficult to get a good mount to do exactly what you did.
Same case as I have! IMO remove the filter for the front fans, and I have an acrylic sheet for my side window
They are just an LED strip. I bought them from IKEA, had some around my monitor and one strip in my case. They aren't the ideal solution, but worked well enough for me :)
But hey, I don't want to spend too much money on lights and I want to use that window in my case!
Window cost me $22(in Australia), cut from a plastic shop. It's just tinted perspex, and I'm using some magnetic tape to secure it to the case. Theres a heap of different ways to do it, I just chose this way because I thought it'd be the easiest :)
I like the window a lot, but why would you remove the filter?
For the fans out the front. There was a build that I pretty closely mimicked, but I can't find pictures of it. Either way, it was mainly black and white, so I did mine the same.
Fair enough, it looks pretty damn awesome.
Yeah, I like it. Does get a little dusty, but really not bad. I only clean the fans every 6 months or so
Got a link to the specific monitor mount/stand you're using? thanks!
Looks cozy! Only wish it wasn't on the ground floor.
Hull! I stayed in the lawns 2 years ago, in my final year now. Beautiful set up.
Is it common to not have a dorm mate?
Such a realistic gaming setup. I'd really like mine to look like this when I get to uni.
I have the same bed sheets hahaha
Ground Floor hall, bad luck mate.
Very nice! Any chance you could post a link to the wallpaper on the left monitor in the first picture?
I have the same wallpaper on my laptop. I think it's just about the best there is. I've tried changing it but keep coming back to that one, for years.
This is a very clean setup. Very nice!
What is your left monitor and stand? I want that.
What kind of LED strip lighting is that? Alchemy by bitfenix? NZXT?
Where do you get such an awesome huge mouse pad!?!?
Man, I have that phone dock and it almost broke the slot on my HTC One. It was really strange... (yes the plug is in the right spot.)
How did you get the map to be on your second screen on battlefield?
Christ, I would hate to live on the ground floor with a window like that, in Hull. It's like a giant "steal my shit" / "watch me masturbate" sign.
Why not eyefinity setup? You don't like or something?
I do for some games (the left monitor can rotate easily), but my graphics card isn't really up to it for most new games.
