Surely there's a way to make it face the door, right? It's a fundamental part of designing a room to have the desk or bed always in a "command position" where you have a clear view of the door.

Look into how much money you could get for selling both desks and instead buying one that can fit you side by side, not only will it mean you have a nicer desk to sit at but also when gaming together you can be more helpful at helping her and generally be closer to her, but that big desk does look nice, i'd aim for something in the same vein.

You can certainly encourage her but not let her own your reading corner. A better more "manly" solution could of been to share it or make her, her own little area. He went from a nice roomy desk that he probably used for awhile to a little corner. He got screwed and let it happen.

That's actually an external HD designed specifically for a mac mini, bought it because it was dirt cheap but the computer is an iMac
I'd Still take the PC over the iMac. The PC has no ceiling to its potential.
