Move Monitor - Computer Setup

Comments

Nice set up, i took the photo that is your desktop background :)
Wow thx! Excellent photo! Need more!
Do you have an album? Looks like a sweet photo :)
Now that's a damn good feel
Is that the Dell U2713hm? I've got that same monitor and while I love the resolution and colors, it's got an issue with backlight bleed in the lower-left hand corner.
Yea it is! thx for the compliments! i got lucky with this monitor, i have no backlight bleed, just ips glow.
How much did you pay?
If it bothers you, I'm pretty sure Dell would replace it. I had one dead pixel near the center of my u2412m and they sent me a replacement right away. I did but it from them though, and I hear that they favor those who purchase from them.
Don't even get me started on the returns process. Long story short, Dell fucked me over 3 times in a row with this monitor and the 3rd time they at least had the courtesy to use lube. I have nothing but bad experiences with Dell customer service.
Is 60hz @1440p really good enough for gaming?
Depends on your preference, I have to have 120fps where possible.
Forgive my ignorance but wouldn't there be skipping or flickering or ghosting with a resolution + refresh rate like that? I thought that's why people played high fps games with 120hz
Ah I'm not the OP I was stating that I'd rather the 120Hz at a lower resolution then 60hz at higher. At least for gaming.
Almost everyone games on a 60Hz monitor, what are you talking about?
The Qnix QX2710? It fucking rocks. Bought it not long ago, clocked it to 110hz without requiring any corrections with colours or any the like. The only problem I have is some minor back light bleed which I fixed by applying pressure on the inner frame. Were you lucky enough to get a perfect monitor?
Mind me asking what keyboard that is?
One of the more overrated keyboards out there: Quickfire Rapid with MX Blues.
Yeah, overrated isn't a good word considering it's a great mechanical keyboard at a great price. Oversaturated maybe? In the sense that they're all over coolcomputersetups, especially on r/mechanicalkeyboards
I remember the time when the only posts were potato pics of QFRs
They are cheap and have this "gamey" feel or something. I personally hate the looks of it, but it's impossible to say no to a mech-board which dropped from $140 to $60.
I like the smaller form factor, and I'm looking to replace my acer keyboard from like 1997. This looks like it fits the bill for what I'm looking for.
Yeah, if you never learned how to type on a numb pad, or just don't need to, it's the way to go. Plus I like to have the F and J keys centered with the logo on my monitor while still having my mouse hand close to my keyboard hand when I game. (I'm very specific)
I know it's very popular and I have to admit the styling really appeals to me. If you had the option of a different keyboard what would you get?
I don't understand the question
I think he meant option rather than portion, probably autocorrect
Assuming you mean option, I'd probably get the Filco Ninja Majestouch 2
I have one that, for whatever reason, won't allow the PC to reboot without unplugging it. I hooked it up to my older PC instead and bought a Rosewill with the same Blues. If anybody has any idea why that happens, I'd be eternally grateful. Love the keyboard otherwise.
I've got a pair myself, they really do sound fantastic.
How do they sound? Thinking about getting them myself.
Not sure how well I can really describe it, but they're some of the cleanest-sounding speakers I've used. They've got clean and full midrange, crisp treble, and punchy lows. When you've got them aimed right, the sweet spot is amazing.
I have a pair myself, I would recommend these speakers to everyone.
I own a pair. IMO they are noticeable better than regular 2.1 PC speakers in the same price range. The sound is much more balanced. I bought them when I started playing electric guitar since my old speakers was way to bassy and thus felt unbalanced.
This answered my other question
Sweet monitor and monitors ;]
Just out of curiosity, what Marvel poster do you have hanging up?
Looks really sleek and clean! Also, happy cake day!
I see you have M-audio monitors. I have the BX8a's and was wondering what you use to connect them to your tower.
I use an alesis io2.
How did you achieve this color correction? I have Lightroom and Camera Raw, but I can never quite get the settings right..
Increased contrast, lowered "white" points, raised "black" points, split tone shadow into blue and highlights into yellow (adjust for taste).
Thank you! I'll definitely try this out :)
I will pm you in couple of hours
Would like the same info!
K gonna have to give me till tomorrow morning when i get back to my comp..
I would also like to know, i've got a few actions i've setup in PS that are similar but don't look this good
What speakers are those? I think I've seen them a bit around here.
Awesome setup! I have those speakers too.
Happy cake day! Also, fantastic setup. I recently went back to a single monitor. No regrets!
Nice. I ordered two U2713HMs and Dell decided to go with the slowest shipping option with Puralator possible. Hopefully they are here tomorrow, hopefully...
What are those speakers and how are they?
Serious question: why 1440p? it is my understanding that unless your tv monitor is a huge your eye cannot tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p?
Have a very similar setup, love the simplicity.
What speakers are those? I'm pretty sure I've got the same pair and they rock.
Move monitor to eye level. This isn't a macbook. You don't need to hunch your back to look over your knuckles.
It is just the angle of the photo, the keyboard is not even close to blocking the monitor..
No thanks I'll stick with my 16:10 display
