No they have a built in amp. just a standard 3.5mm into the back of the main pc.

They are brilliant for the price mate! they are very big though 55cm (21inches) high. So you will need a big desk to accommodate them.

Network attatched storage device. in this case running freenas which is a unix based distro.

Ermmm I understood the first sentence. The second on the other hand, not so much...

Basically a computer with a shitload of storage, which my computers and mobile devices can connect to over my home network.

Where did you get your desk? This is exactly what I've been looking for but I havent had any luck.

I got it from a place called officemax which is a New Zealand company it was an ex display room, the last one in the shop!

Thanks for your kind words of condolences. But I'm in the U.S. and every manufacture and store thinks all desks should be glass or black. But I wanna conceal my dirty fingers prints, who has time to be cleaning desk tops?

Just the raid array and a cifs/smb and NFS share for my windows and Linux machines I have FTP running on it also to backup my android devices:)

Why a low profile keyboard??

You and my mother are the only people who seem to believe that a low profile keyboard is best for touch typing, I can't stand them

Lol! I do like the clack of a mechanical keyboard, Just can't type as fast with them personally;)

I have actually had them at each corner of the desk, but it doesn't make much of a difference tbh, I never have it too loud sitting down either, because at that distance it could blow your eardrums out lol!
