Gaming Setup - Computer Setup

Not sure why this doesn't have more bookmarks... tidier and more aesthetically pleasing than 95% of gaming setups posted here!
One for gaming. One for design. One for hacking. Gaming setup trifecta?
All he needs now is a mechanical 'board to complete the...quad-fecta(?)
For as in vogue as mechanical keyboards are right now, I've never felt the need. I'm not a typist, and the noise and bulk brought to the table by mechanicals are not worth the improved experience to me. Only reason I've got the IPS display (also really trendy right now) is because the wife is a professional photographer.
Dude, I may be sort of an elitist (I try not to be obnoxious with it), but once you try mechanical (and you can find padded boards that aren't too loud) and IPS, you really never want to go back. You could argue that mechs are "trendy," because the feeling is, for the most part, preference based, but IPSs just down right look better.
Tried 'em. And I agree, they are, for the most part, "better". But it also depends on your needs. If you're primarily a gamer, you don't want an IPS screen. You don't need the improved viewing angles or the higher color gamut, and the lowered response times result in ghosting. As far as the mechanical keyboards go, like I say, the experience is better, but since I don't type for a living, I don't need it. I dunno, I guess it just bothers me a little that they're so trendy right now by pure virtue of being "better" than the alternative, when it doesn't actually do the best job depending on your needs and wants, and people end up paying too much because of it. But that's just me. :) /soapbox
What program is running on that iPad? Looks pretty cool!
Nice. I'd love to have two roommates who were both into building custom rigs.
I like it, glad you put all the specs (stand included). Getting a new desk at home and I needed a stand for my laptop. The Rain Design mStand looks perfect. Thanks!
The mStand is great. The iPad is in a Twelve South Bookarc, for which there is also a MacBook version as well, if you are looking in that direction.
Very nice and clean. I love it.
Amazing setup! I would really like to know though, what is the app your roomate with the mac setup is running on his ipad next to his computer? It looks like its monitoring his macbook pro and that looks awesome!
Recognized the Ikea desk. Proceeded to recognize everything else. Hope you're still enjoying the new place, nice job putting your cakeday so close to the real one. Oh, and nice gaming setup, enjoy the bookmarks.
Sweet pussy! The gaming setups nice too. Happy cakeday!
You guys seem to be very clean and classy, I love it
Refreshing to come across a sensible and tastefully done battleroom once in a while. Anyway, how is gaming on that 30" monitor with it being so upclose due to the somewhat shallow desk. Do you lose view of what's going on sooner compared to lets say a 24" screen?
What is the desk that you sue
It's from Ikea (isn't it always? :) ). The table top is called a Linnmon, the two drawers on the ends are called Alex's.
Whats the chairs name?
Oh man, I could've told you if you hadn't asked. :) I think it's the Markus? I tried a ton of them at the store. Got a different one for my other office downstairs, but this one's better.
