Gaming Setup - Computer Setup

Comments

I tried to have a very similar setup with my wife but she kept elbowing me by mistake and then asking me what I was doing every 5 minutes. I now have our desks back to back and all is well.
I mistakenly read that as a "fapping interference" comment. I'm glad things work out now! Haha.
Lol, no. She was moving around and mistakenly hitting me with her elbow (tracking with the mouse, plugging/unplugging peripherals) or just using me as an armrest. Very annoying.
I can see you have achieved very high efficiency in distance between the 2 places you would spend the most time at, the bed and your PC
What you don't see is the restroom just on the other side of that wall. The rest of the house is empty.
Who said this is a house?
I have five female friends (not including myself), who have built their own gaming setups. Where do you guys live that it's so hard to find girls?
Indiana.. Girls here dont seem to be very tech savvy
Maybe it's because I'm a computer science major. If you're in college hang out in the engineering dept. You'll find some I promise. I'm surrounded.
Really? Sweet, because that is the field that I want to go into!
I mean, there's a 1/10 gender ratio, but yeah.
I will take one for the team!
I'm getting a bachelor in physics and our girls night outs often end up in lan parties, so I guess I'm suggesting one more sphere to find "these girls" irl.
The thought of girls night out turning into lan parties is amazing!
Indiana IT guy.. I concur. nurses will be the death of me
You too? It would probably be fair to say that 8/10 of the girls in my school want to do something that pretty much just translates to nurse
It is a very female dominated field. Also nurses get all them doctor hookups.
In SC... Girls here don't know shit all they want is an iPhone from their parents.
Oddly enough, I met mine at Time Warner Cable.
I met mine at Gamestop.
It's actually a bunch of different IKEA parts that my wife and I thought we could fit together.
Ya I like that desk a lot where did you pick it up?
Ha, I met mine at Best Buy. I guess you have to work at a semi-nerdy place to find the females that are into gaming.
Confidence will always work. That and my cloak that provides me +10 to charming.
Dont forget the fedora that gives you +5 style
Mine didn't exactly want a gaming setup... But I built her one anyway.
I bet she loves her command post now!
Yuup! She went from never having PC gamed to addicted to PC gaming in no time :D
I hate this whole "his and hers" bullshit. I can't even plug on fucking two iPhone chargers next to each other without my girlfriend saying "OMG his and hers iPhone chargers!" FUCK YOU, THEY'RE JUST CHARGERS.
Thank you! The only His and Hers that baffles me is when toilets are next to each other...
Thy fecal matter brings tears to my eyes.
Nice, but what do yall do when the person on the inside needs to get up? And how hot does that bedroom get? Looks amazing man
She just walks behind me, we aren't that big to begin with. I'm 5'6" and she's 5'1". The room is nicely ventilated with plenty of A/C to go around! Thank you!
Unrelated, but you should display your katana with its edge facing up to decrease the pressure on the edge from the scabbard. :)
Will do! Thank you for the input! (Fixing immediately)
I imagine that the scabbord would deform more than the blade and having it edge up would mean the scabbard would deform into the edge of the blade where edge down the scabbord would rest on the trailing edge.
Ah, that'd be true if the display stand were supporting the hilt instead of the scabbard, but since the scabbard is the one in contact with the stand, it's better to have the edge facing up.
I can see monitors for miles
I see black wood for kilometers?
Do you really have The Ultimate Fighter inside your case?
There can only be one highlander.
The Ultimate Force. ASUS Sabertooth P67
This gets me thinking that we as men are programmed to display weapons near their computer.
Protecting the cave... you gotta have them in reach.
Our "weapons" are proudly displayed on all men technically. I think it's subconsciously to protect the electronics.
I totally didn't think about that until you brought it up. These were just sitting next to me while browsing
I need a desk like this where did you get it ?
My wife and I created it at the last section of IKEA. We just took 2 different desk parts and put them together.
Thanks a lot ! I'll see if I can get two if these at IKEA here in Switzerland ;p
If I moved the sword, time and space would cease to exist!
Have you ever crafted a multi monitor background to match on the 4 monitors?
I attempted to but the wife wants her SL background.
Where did you get that desk?
Where did the table come from?
Why is the "hers" setup always inferior?
Because setup is a sexist, chauvinist pig!
I just had some major guilt. I think I will swap out the missus laptop for decent mini-ITX build with 2x 24" screens. It is not very fair that I spend so much on my own machines when she just uses her laptop.
I couldn't agree more! It also should be noted that her PC is entirely made up of my old parts..haha.
Heh, that happens a lot. Some people just don't care, anyway. My girlfriend doesn't, and oddly her setup is way nicer than mine. I'm trying to stagger upgrades - every year the other station gets a major refresh. This was her year. January is mine :D
Mine is actually superior to my husbands. But then again, I play games way more than him. We're currently about to start building a 'cabin'/house and I fully plan on making an amazing set up for both of us once it gets finished.
NICE! I wish you the best of luck in doing so.
Finally I see another antec 1100. I thought I was the only one.
Other than the dual monitors, my wife and I have a very similar setup. Bed is right behind our chairs just like in your setup.
Rolling out of bed has a new meaning doesn't it?
Love those Cherry blues. Same one here.
God, I miss mine. In all honesty, my cat peed on mine and I went out and got the 2013 version. It comes in green, but I miss the blue backlighting, matched everything else I have.
If you have the balls/time on your hands, you can desolder the 3.5mm LEDs and replace them all. I have the green one (which I like very much), but I am going to replace the WASD with red and Esc with amber.
I would love to try!
I really don't think I have the lady-balls to do that. I'm too scared that I'd break it.
I know the feeling. I even complained to Razer when I had to do an RMA for my NAGA. Needless to say I never did it because of it being green.
The keyboard would be blind. It's not his fault, he was meant for better things..
Computer time is alone time for me. I like to have my space...this just seems too close quarters. I could see how gaming would be fun though.
I had pretty much the same thought when I saw the pic, even though gears are nice but the positioning for me personally would be uncomfortable. And like you said, except for gaming, when my guy was at my flat and played with me in the other side of the room it was strange because we couldn't find out is it better to speak ingame or shout irl but when he played and meanwhile I studied in the same places it was good enough. Individual.
Her only speakers are headphones. She mainly works on her projects while she watches and listens to my gaming.
What is your relationship like? Do you guys game together all the time or just spend time together on your computers? I have some friends that have this same setup and it seems like all they are doing is just sitting next to each other while playing their own stuff. They have a kid together and obviously are serious. I feel like it would be a weird relationship. Thoughts?
We honestly haven't stopped speaking/interacting with each other since we met 2 years ago! We sit next to each other while each does their own thing. She's on Second Life/photoshop and I'm here on Coolcomputersetups or gaming. The thing I love most about our relationship is that we both are doing exactly what we like to do alone but with each other.
That's awesome. My girl doesn't like computers that much and doesn't like it when I spend more than an hour or so on mine. She is a good girlfriend besides that though
I was thinking about this if my future wife was a gamer. What is the hardware and how much did this all roughly cost?
HIS: *Intel i7 2600k OC 4 GHz
*ASUS Sabertooth P67
*WD Caviar Black 1TB *Samsung 840 SSD *Corsair Vengeance 16g RAM *Corsair H50 Liquid cooling *2 EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SLI *Creative SB X-Fi Soundcard *Antec 750w PSU *Antec 1100 Case
._. "hers" gaming setup is better than mine.. brb, doing some extra shifts to get a titan.... ;)
Wow this picture made me feel lonely as shit.
Finally one where the girl didn't get shafted (badum tsss)
