I never understood getting a tenkeyless keyboard. While my desktop is my gaming rig, as an avid Excel user, not having the numeric keypad would drive me up a wall.
I think it's a case of to each their own. I never use mine, and prefer having my hands closer together for gaming. And, though not practical, I love the aesthetics of TKL's. For me, the Filco ticks all the boxes.
I love it man. I have a Keycool 84, and I don't miss my numpad at all.
Got my Filco majestouch Ninja Tenkeyless two weeks ago. It is just wonderful. I'm playing StarCraft so much right now because I just enjoy having a high APM with this keyboard.
Because you wanted that specific keyboard or am I missing something?
It's the form factor of a TKL but still has everything a full sized keyboard does.
Aha, I understand now, thanks.
You can get a USB tenkey pad.
Defeats the purpose, as I use the numeric keypad for alternative hotkeys in games (as they are recognized differently than normal numeric keys).
You could still technically keybind the USB numpad.
How does it defeat the purpose? You can disconnect it when you don't need it.
Yes, I could. However, I said earlier that I use it for Excel a lot as well as keybinding in games. Therefore, removing it would be far and few between.
I run a HHKB2 Pro with a custom made numpad
I guess most people aren't avid Excel users.
Well, statistically speaking, numeric KPH (keystrokes per hour) is usually 2-3x faster than alphanumeric, due to travel time and accuracy. I would like to assume that this coolcomputersetups is not just comprised of gamer-only content?
Everyone has different preferences or requirements, if that suits you best then great. Personally, I use a tenkeyless because I like having my hands closer together, and I never used the numpad anyway. I don't need lots keys either because I don't usually play MMOs. I never played WoW, but I kinda wish I had.
I also own a30s. I regret not buying the a40s.
And is that Vista? C'mon, man
It most certainly is not, what are you smoking?
I see the Bose controller, out of interest sake where as your speakers?
They're on the windowsill behind the monitor. Fills the room up nicely without being seen; as I'm usually wearing headphones.
That desk is really nice. What kind is it?
It's actually a custom made dining table I bought with my girlfriend years ago. We figured out we prefer to eat out than host dinner parties, and we have other spaces to eat, so it became my desk.
Never mind the computer, what bike is that?
Btwin Triban 3. Very low-cost but highly efficient road bike. Had mine about six months and it's been absolutely stellar so far.
You know if there is any way to get one of these in the States? Most I'm finding is Europe.
That bigass saddle bag may be dragging down its efficiency. ;)
Good man. What coffee are you drinking?
A very large macchiato!
Do you have a link to that headphone stand? I've been looking everywhere for one...
It's the official Astro one, from their site. I love it, and it matches the A30's obviously, but there definitely better/cheaper stands out there.
Astro stopped selling them a year or so ago sadly :[ I've wanted another one for so long
I use my old Snowball as a headphone stand.
I use this.
Link for wallpaper or die. Thanks
Do you work from home? What do you do? Awesome, simple station!
Do you have a link to that sweet wallpaper?
Thanks for sharing but your links don't work for me. Could someone please upload them somewhere else, like coolcomputersetups ?
It's very homely, and nice PC.
I love wooden desks like yours, to me they seem much more warm and homely than a glass or plain wood one.
I see you have danbo in the corner over there, where'd you get him?
You can find them on Amazon, he was £12 a while back.
I like the extra depth to the setup - impractical in a small apartment but so goddamn nice to use.
Yep, going to need that headphone stand...
Only real gamers have candles on their gaming setups<3
I. Read. The. Title. Like. This. because its all capitalized
guize he was totally referring to the window the desk is facing
