Larger Monitor - Computer Setup

Comments

Did you include all of the peripherals in the £500 budget or was it just the tower?
The larger monitor I already had so I didn't pay for that but everything else came under that budget
Nice, what spec is the rig?
AMD Phenom II Black Edition at 3.6 Quad Core
Hopefully so! I probably plan on upgrading the GPU at some point because it has it's limitations!
Invest in an ssd instead drastically reduces boots and load times
Maybe I will, when I have the money.
This is so similar to my budget and im wondering if that CPU is ok for gaming?
I haven't experienced any problems with it and I've played a fair few intensive games. Crysis 3 (beta) ran at around 30fps on mid-graphics and at around 15 on high (not gonna bother with the ultra swetting :P ) all that is mostly limitations of the GPU though so you should be fine!
Ooh one more thing, The CPU doesn't accept the full 1666Mhz of the RAM so it underclocks it to 1333Mhz. I haven't seen the impact of this at all so I wouldn't worry.
A CPU does not determine acceptance of the RAM speed or not, it'd be the bus that would require a downclock of the RAM to work, not the CPU. So it's really your motherboard that's causing the lower speed of the RAM.
Did well for 500 quid there!
Yeah I was super budgeted and made good use of the post-Christmas sales!
Instead of having a second monitor you could've have some extra cash to spend on a better video card(my opinion)
Overall rice build!
Once I buy a hi-fi I'm planning on upgrading the video card anyway :)
Awesome little tower, Someone in a PC shop said its a Chinese copy of a Coolermaster, not sure mind
