Outside Monitors - Computer Setup

Comments

I only paid $129 for my 5 monitor stand.
I said in a previous comment that there is one that is around $80 and looks nice, but it doesn't use a stand, it uses a clamp. The back of my desk is too thick for a clamp so I can't use it.
The middle monitor being that low would infuriate me.
Yeah, i'm still trying things out to see if I want to keep it that way. I might have to mess with the middle to raise it up a hair.
Why did you use the bent connectors?
To connect the pipes horizontally, those angled fittings
Oh, those are 45 degree fittings one female to female and one male to female. It allows you to create any angle you want
Yeah, but it looks like that'd be a big issue with why the monitors aren't level
Huh? The two outside monitors are noticeably higher up than the middle one
Oh, I see what you mean. I thought you meant level rotation-wise. Yeah, that is the reason they are higher. But without them it would be stuck at a 45 degree angle which is way too much. I have a plan the raise the middle monitor up a bit though.
Looks pretty good. There are plenty of stands for way less than $300 though. Try monoprice and amazon.
Looks great man! The prices for monitor stands are outrageous.
How much for all the materials, and how much time did it take?
$65 for everything, took about an hour to build. I know there is one triple monitor stand online in the $80 range that clamps to your desk, but the back of my desk is too thick for a stand to be clamped to it.
$72 Looks awesome tho.
Could you use your Google-Fu and find me a two-monitor one?
I recently built one myself, however, i am experiencing hardcore monitor tilt(after mouting it to the pipe, monitor sloooowly tilts down. Your clamps look better than mine. What are those called?
I use pipe hangers I found at lowes. The two screws on either side allow you to really get it tight on there. I can't get these things to move at all unless I loosen them.
Thanks, keep a look out on this sub for mine. i need to fix the sag, and then manage my cables.
Yeah, my station isn't ready yet... need to tidy things up. I just posted this because I was proud I guess.
Do the 45 degree angles bother you at all? It seemed extreme to me when I tried it.
What a tiny keyboard you have :) what kinda juice you got there?
Thanks, thats a poker 2 kb, and 100% grape juice.
Oh, I meant the e-cigarette juice on the windowsill, or is that something else?
Looks nice, decent price..... out of stock :(
I have that one, love it. Damn shame that it's out of stock.
Nice and sturdy, I like it. I'd make the middle monitors mount on a sliding rail of some sort that can be adjusted for height. Then you could level the heights of the three monitors and wouldn't have to worry about the elbow pieces holding the side monitors.
Probly should have paid thats a wonky stand! j/k Looks cool good job :)
