Triple Monitor - Computer Setup

Comments

I cant stop looking at the cluster above the monitors
The soundproofing panels and foam?
It's more acoustic treatment than soundproof right? Do you have more around the room? Seems like a weird place to it tbh ^
Yep its for acoustics, but it only works if it is in front of the speakers, usually on the sides or ceiling.
Behind the monitors is actually a very common place to put acoustic treatment. It actually is the FIRST place you put acoustic treatment because it has the strongest reflection with back ported studio monitors (all modern monitors are back ported these days.)
Yeah that stuff, it bothers me for some reason
Nice to come across a fellow OCN user! Took a look at your build log and I must say, that's a damn sexy WC setup you've got!
Thanks! I'm just a determined amateur builder with way too much time on my hands. A lot of the builds on OCN are works of art that put my setup to shame.
Fucking crazy awesome build man!
I hope to one day have the time, dedication and funds to build a computer as nicely as you did. A very very nice PC/workstation you got there! :)
What triple monitor stand you using? Sweet gaming setup btw.
It's not a stand. I never could find a triple stand that I liked so I just went with 3 individual wall mounts.
Sounds like my current problem
There's tons of triple stands/mounts for 22"/24" setups.. but for 27" and above they're either very very few.. or ones that are outrageously expensive (Chief etc).
I like your idea of 3 individual wall mounts. Did you need to use drywall anchors or just drywall screws? Or did you go right in to the studs?
With the size on the 27's I went right to the studs. Didn't want to trust anchoring in drywall. Picked up 3 tri-articulated arms so I could get the movement I needed to close the gap difference as well the length needed to come off the wall enough for the outer monitors to angle in. I had a mount prior that was a triple mount but the angle wasn't sharp enough to my liking. I'd "lose" the outer edges on the side monitors. I mean, we're talking about 9 feet of screen space here.
Yeah i see what you're saying, I'm only dealing with 3 x 21.5" monitors so im still unsure if i should go for 3 singles or a triple. I love the way it looks wall mounted.
For 3 ~22's I'd recommend the http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Monitor-Standing-Supports-002-0020/dp/B006JG9RQ2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1374367550&sr=8-3&keywords=triple+monitor+mount?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&tag=coolcompsetu-20. I had it and it worked well. Also not crazy expensive. Individual mounts might work out to be cheaper overall but lining the damned things up right can be a pain.
I actually looked into that seller, but i'm Canadian, and they charge a good $100 for shipping to Canada, not to mention customs fees.
What microphone is that? And do you like it?
Heh. It's a cheap-ass DRV-100. Eventually I'll get a real desk mic.
I think we should call it MDV, My Daily View, and just start posting what we look at everyday. It would still be my PC and monitors, for sure, with the kitchen a close second, and the bathroom a third. Not counting the bed as my eyes are closed for the majority of that time.
It's the Altar of Awesomeness.
On the right side i assume is an audio interface?
Yeah, it's a small Alto MX52. The Nano Patch next to it is to control the volume on my Polk sub. Sound card is an ASUS Essence STX. Line out to Alto where I line out to my Razer wireless headset for gaming or line out to the audio rack that drives the Polk Monitors. Rane MQ302L equalizer->Rane MC22 compressor->Rane MX22 crossover->QSC RMX850 amp. I don't produce music, I just really like music. :)
Wat are those speakers on top? i can also see you have sound-deadening materials up.
What kind of speakers mounts are you using? I am trying to get my monitors on the wall as well. thx
As an audio engineer, I applaud your use of acoustic foam, but disapprove of the speaker placement. For an optimal listening environment, you should have the speakers at ear level, forming an equilateral triangle with your head.
I take it you like razer?
Such overpriced things in my view.
Depends on the product really. I had the Logitech wireless headset but didn't like the fit on my gigantic ears. Picked up the Chimaera and liked the build quality and options. Needed a new mouse so took a chance with the Mamba which has been a great mouse. The mousepad is simply because finding one big enough for keyboard/mouse is a pain. Wanted a mechanical keyboard to replace my dying Logitech G19 but none of the Ducky's or similar had the features I wanted (USB3, sound/mic) in the right combinations. I've heard horror stories on the Razer keyboards but so far I've had no issues or complaints with their products.
I agree. I like how their products but I got one of their keyboards. They discontinued it and I've had problems with it ever since I got it.
Why would you even buy that shitty piece of overpriced junk go preorder an Xbox one like a decent person and stop killing the mothafuckin preowned market with your shitty steam sales so go play something with better graphics like a 360 or even a ps3
Too obvious of a troll.
So true. There was no witty comment or even a hint subtlety. Instead just a flood of shit streaming forth from his fingers without an ounce of punctuation.
Downvote whore must have aching pimples.
If I'm a down vote whore then 1v1 me on blops2 you fucking n00b I'll fuck your mom
Obvious troll is obviously trying to be an obvious troll (obviously)
