Your Monitors - Computer Setup

Wow this is so HOT! I know this is 'gaming setups' coolcomputersetups but I am a sucker for beauty surrounding the gaming setups. Any music you made that I can listen to? Also, is that skull string instrument functional?
You better be having lots of hot steamy sex in that room
God you should've given us a warning! I just came everywhere.
Haha, you should see the original uncompressed, full resolution, raw photos :)
I really like the ambiance, the feel of this room! Good stuff!
Love it. Especially the Persian.
What type of music do you make?
Bad. Ass. I want that Deadmau5 poster.
I made it out myself out of construction foam. :)
Thats really sweet. What do you do for a living?
Great setup! Have you considered getting more monitors? :P
Haha, oh r/gaming setups and your trigintillion monitor setups :P No, I actually used to have two but then switched to one to save desk space. I'm actually quite comfortable with it this way :)
Oh how i miss my toneport
This one's a UX2. It's the next model in the same line that yours is in. It has two instrument inputs designed for guitar, one of which is padded for active pickups I believe. It has two XLR mic inputs with preamps, as well as two line ins. I don't use most of that though; instead, I run everything through the mixer and then the mixer to the UX2's line ins as I like the preamps better and have more inputs at a time on the mixer. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by outputting sound with software as a pose to hardware though, can you elaborate?
What i mean is, can i get the output sound from POD Farm into a recording software such as Audacity or some other program of the like. And thank you for telling me what product that is.
Absolutely. Pod Farm works as an software extension of the UX2 itself, which is a sound card. As long as you have ASIO drivers, which you get with the product, you can enable this as your primary playback and recording device in any DAW like Audacity.
Thanks for the help! I'm going to have to stick with my UX1 for a while cause im not really bringing in any cash for me. I want to get a UX2 so i can record my guitar while its also recording my bass which my friend plays. BTW is that possible since now i know i can record using pod farm?
Recording Guitar and Bass is possible on two separate channels when they're each in mono. Unfortunately none of the inputs aren't balanced on the UX2 and therefor can't take a stereo signal. Pod Farm also limits you to basically two mono ins or one stereo in at any given time. This may possibly be a limitation for you if you wanted to record a lot of band members at a time. If that is the case, I would look for audio interfaces with more inputs that you can use at a time.
Oh i see, well we can record one at a time. Thanks for the help again :)
Hey. Nice setup. What speakers are those? Do you like them?
Nononononono! Why did you have to tell me this
Haha, I'm really sorry. Do you have the 80m's?
What are those black things on the wall?
Haha, thank you. They are acoustic treatment panels to reduce unwanted noise from reflections on the walls. There's actually a right way and a wrong way to hang them and I'm ashamed to say I hung them the wrong way... which was to make them look pretty :P The right way is to calculate exactly where specific reflection points are from your monitors and place panels in those spots. But my placement does still affect the room acoustics for the better. Plus they look nice :)
Wow I really like this, must be a fantastic environment for mixing.
Holy shit this needs to be bookmarkd more! The layout, the design, the lighting, the photography.. I love it! Nicely done man!
What PC keyboard is that?
It's a Model M, a truly fantastic piece of hardware. I can't describe how much I love it. :)
GAH. such a beautiful keyboard :'). how much did you get it for!
It was actually a gift from my brother. He got it from an online seller, on ebay I think, that collects, cleans, repairs, and resells Model M's. I'll ask him and get back to you on that.
Great looking studio.
do you have neighbors? if yes, how do you dampen sound to not disturb them?
Love the atmosphere in that room ! Link us to some of your music man !
Your computer setup is a supreme beauty. I will I could make mine look like that.
Haha, I wish :P Nah, there aren't any walls of synths anywhere ;)
Oh god I'm jealous, it's gorgeous. Is that logic or Cubase your running? Oh and got any music made in there to share?
Ah damn I knew it wouldn't be one I guessed. What kind of music do you make?
Awesome gaming setup, Wif10. Care to share some of your work?
I really like it. Great job, man. Just out of curiosity, do you live in a detached home? If not, how do you deal with the neighbors?
The studio's in a basement so I can't really advise on dealing with neighbors, sorry.
What producing program are you using in the 3rd picture and what mic is that?
Would you recommend any mic for hip hop vocals? sorry for asking so much questions, but you seem to be a bit more knowledgeable than me.
Hey man, sweet set-up you got going on!
I actually made those myself out of construction foam. You can totally just go to a crafts store to get some and build it yourself. Luckily the prism and mau5 head are simple enough geometrically to cut out.
Lol! dude that's sick. they came out great.
Thanks :) But don't worry, you'd still see some imperfections and mistakes if you looked closely. I actually got indigo and violet switched on the color spectrum. I felt like a pretty big idiot for that but can't fix it now :P
Hey awesome setup man! What is that device with the two glowing yellow circles on it? I'm guessing its a headphone amp?
That's my audio interface or sound card. It's a Line 6 UX2.
