SNSV Monitors - Computer Setup

What's with the upside down monitor?
I bought a cheap, low profile mount, without thinking about the input and power cords that come directly out the back of the monitor. I ordered a right angle power cord and hdmi adapter to remedy the situation. Go to install it, and bam, the right angle of the power cord hits the bottom of the wall side of the mount. so I had to flip it upside down, making the power cord be at the top above the mount. THEN I had to buy another right angle hdmi adapter since it was sticking out up at the top (you can see that in the vid), so it now runs up and to the left, using 2 adapters. What a pain!
Personally, I would've just gotten a different mount at that point.
What do you mean? All SNSV monitors come like that.
Time to level up your tv backlighting...
Awesome, something else I now want to do but lack the funds for...
That is so damn cool. From what I understand, it's taking RGB information from XBMC and sending it to to Pi, which dictates the color combo/location for the back light. Is there anyway that this would be possible to use for gaming? Somehow using a different intermediary to send the information like XBMC does.
Hey OP, awesome set-up, but my little brother walked in and wanted to know the name of the song playing in the background. Can you help me out? lol
Libella Swing by Parov Stellar.
What kind of desk is it?
Im assuming that the wiring goes through the wall, right? If so, wont this be a liability issue in the case of a fire.
I asked an electrician I go to school with because I was concerned. He says the hdmi cable through the wall is okay, but the power cable through the wall is against code. So yes, if the house burned down due to an electrical fire, I'd be fucked.
Is it safe to put a conduit into the wall and feed the cables down that?
Oh cool solution, thanks for the idea!
Where are the cables ARE YOU A WIZARD?
So I gotta ask, is the light behind the monitor something that is just for show? I can't imagine having that turned on while actually using the monitor.
Well the color changing mode is just for show, I never use it. When I'm gaming I keep it on low red, orange, or purple, and it looks quite nice. It just softens up the edge of the monitor and seems to be easier on the eyes than without it, especially with all the other lights off in the house. The pictures really make it seem bright, but it's not. In person it's pretty subtle. If I had a better camera I could capture it more realistically.
Unfortunately with the lights on, the environment doesn't feel as refreshing as the setup with lights off is, if you know what I mean. With a plain white clean room, a modern glass desk and a nice simple office chair, this setup would look much nice in light. :)
Um sir. i think your monitor upside downsies. :P
Very nice I need to know how did you do the light setup?
Minus that light being so damn bright and i despise the hell out of that mousepad.....it's a ballin setup!
Yeah the pictures make it seem very bright, but really it's not, just a light glow around the monitor even in complete darkness. My phone takes shitty pics. The mousepad was a gift from my gf, I can't get rid of it or she will be sad. I'd rather just have a plain black one lol...
So what your saying is, when you break up...and you know you will....you will be a man again.
Eh... I don't like it
OR, perhaps, he's tall enough that the chair is a little around mid-upper back and his eyes fall just above the mid point of the screen, judging from the last picture.
