Currently 5th (and final) year Civil Engineering student. I took the 5 years co-op program over the traditional 4 because of the better job opportunities. So some years I have a semester of school, and then a semester of work. Just came off an 8th month work term and so I splurged and set this up. It helps that school is mostly paid for through scholarships as well, but tuition isn't that bad.
Don't let haters hate. It's a nice setup, enjoy it man.
My cousin is currently working out of University (I think he's considered a full civil engineer) and I know for a fact he's peaking 100k a year and he's still in his 20's. He's working for CN designing stuff for them. Good luck in the future!
Where can I buy those lights behind the monitors???
Amazing set up by the way.
Any chance of getting a picture at an angle where we can see exactly how you have these lights set up? I'm looking into doing something similar and can't find much information about it.
Nice, you guys seem to have similar setups with the hard plastic lights.
Sure, once I get home I can do it.
Awesome, it's much appreciated.
I added some more images to this album. They should help give you a better idea of the LED setup.
Thanks for the pics, I think I'm going to end up doing something similar.
I wish I had a Titan.
Buy a 7990 for half that instead...
Thank you for being one of the few gaming setups with a UPS!
Why would you need an UPS for a gaming machine (aka non-server/critical systems)? I agree it's nice to have but hardware and software is robust enough these days to not be damaged by sudden power loss.
Whats is that race-car type chair?
DXRacer D09. OP said it in the last couple of frames. :)
Chair is sold out everywhere :(
Awesome setup dude, I'd love to find myself sitting in that chair.
That is quite a setup man. I have seen that chair in a few other posts what is it? My chair is on it's last leg, literally.
Looks great OP. Out of curiosity did you buy the 3D TV for 3D use?
It wasn't the main reason--I just needed to upgrade from the 30 inch 720p I had and noticed that one online for $300 off. It was my first time trying the passive 3D (other than a theatre) and I actually prefer it to the shutter style. It looks really good.
Dude you have a sick ass set up, I won't hate on you for having a Titan. Man I wish I had that set up, not to kiss your ass or anything but like the breaking bad poster.
That wallpaper is SICK, and I am VERY picky about my wallpapers, haven't changed mine in a year, where can I get it?
I literally just searched "blue imagesize:5760x1080" on google images. Same for "red" and "green".
Badass setup you there there sir!
You could run two Titans on half that juice! How are frames with eyefinity?
All that's missing now are the prices.
I'm jealous, that's a nice setup.
Bro, you've got more holed up in your room than my whole house. Get some better pillows and sheets for your bed!
Are the laptop and IPad used for anything while at the station or are they just for on the go and displayed here?
I take the iPad for random things at school, but no so much the laptop anymore. I've had it since high school (had 2 desktops since then) so it's old, slow, and a big bit. I only bring it to school if I'm working on a report.
Have you been using that chair for a longer time? I've 'test-seated' it last week in a shop and I'm 99.9% sure about getting it because of the first impression I got, but how do you feel about it as a long(er)-time user?
I've only had it a few weeks, but it's much better than the generic wheel chair I had before. Saying that, I can't compare it to much else--I've never sat in a Herman Miller Embody.
At first I didn't like the lumbar support pillow, but now I don't take it off, and honestly I cannot say anything bad about this chair.
Nice to hear :)! Thanks for the reply. All I can compare it to is an Ikea office chair too haha, so it's a pretty good upgrade I guess.
Awesome setup, You have given me some good ideas.
I had a similar laptop as you!
That's it, I'm moving back in with my parents.
How much do you like your dx racer? is it worth the money?
So...what frames and settings do you get with a single Titan running 5760x1080 3d on 120hz monitors?
BF3 on max settings, only about 25-35 when playing multiplayer. Obviously double that with 2D. I don't regularly go full out 3D surround, but if I do I drop the settings a notch.
