Gaming Setup - Computer Setup

Very nice! Solid choice on the audio setup.
Those speakers do look great.
What is a DAC used for in the audio area?
Thanks, I have a few but all the resolutions are off so when I use 'tile' they never fit properly. Definitely going to check out that sub.
DisplayFusion is what I use. The free version allows you to choose a different image for each monitor and the program creates 1 image out of them to stretch across. You can easily replace one or the other. For example, this is what I have mine set up like. It's a pretty good tool.
I was wondering what a DAC is used for and why I might need one, I've never paid much attention to audio.
So you just plug your existing headphones into this stack and it makes the music better? Huh, never thought about how dedicated hardware could improve such a thing we overlook.
To be clear, it can make your music sound better, depending upon what kind of setup that you using before. A couple of the advantages of a DAC is that you remove possible noise from your computer while (generally speaking) upgrading to a simply better quality digital to analog converter that just does a better job of converting digital music to analog sound. The amplifier takes the line-volume audio from the DAC and amplifies it to be listened to on a set of headphones or speakers.
I use the 880s too. Can you give me the exact details of the preamp you're using?
If you're talking about the desktop setup, it's a Schiit Modi and Magni (DAC and headphone amp respectively). The Magni lacks a line out so you can't really use it as a preamp.
Just getting into the audiophile thing. Looking at the DT990s right now.
The Magni amplifies the converted signal to a more appropriate volume level. The 600ohm 880s are a little hard to drive without an amp. Different headphones with different impedances may require more juice to get any volume out of them. Higher impedances don't always mean they're harder to drive though, and vice-versa.
FWIW, I love my 990 Pro's. Best set of cans I've ever put on my head. Still looking for the right DAC though.
Can i get the lambo wallpaper
Dang dude thanks they're amazing
Can you tell me your keyboard?
It's a Levetron Clicker Mechanical keyboard. Pretty cheap, I like it. Gripped keys for arrows and WASD for gaming which is nice.
Hey, what sort of backlighting is that?
Bought it at Ikea. Can't remember the name but it's just 4 circular LEDs with a remote. I paid like $30 for them IIRC. I wish I got the ones that come in a strip though, instead of the small circular ones. You might also want to go with the strips if you're looking to buy.
How do you run Skyrim on dual monitors? It crashes like crazy on mine.
Single monitor. I turn the second monitor off but I run GPU tweak and fraps and such so I can keep an eye on my rig while I'm overclocking.
I'm working on my gaming setup and it is in very primitive, budget form right now. First things first, I need to ditch my squeaky ass-bone breaker of a chair which has me wondering: what chair is that and is it worth buying?
Very seldom, do I come across a setup I want to mimic mine from. Very clean and organized.
Info on TV? looks nice
Cool setup, but you have some cable management issues, as well as some airflow issues
Hey, great set-up. I was going to buy the 990 pros with the Modi and Magni, the Modi is on its way. Question, what RCA cables are you using to link the two? Schiit's RCA recommendation? They even look custom... Sommer Cable?
How did you get Skyrim to not crap out due to the second screen?
Airflow sucks cables suck
Thanks for your useless fucking opinion.
