3 Monitor - Computer Setup

Has there been a skit where somebody tries to use this mask as a power point?
I love how you call them power points. I feel like I should be falling asleep during a presentation at work. ;)
Haha what are they over there, sockets?
Power Outlets, or just outlets for short.
Also extremely jealous of your blue backlit BlackWidow. Is it still possible to buy them or are the green ones the only ones in stock?
If you're looking for a well built backlit mech keyboard check ducky keyboards.
I'm looking at those for my next keyboard.
I've also been looking at those. Thanks for the suggestion.
I would check a local best buy or something. They stock some high end Razer products and they may have some blue ones hanging around. I've had mine for about 2 years.
Alright thanks, I might have seen one at Walmart a week ago, can you tell what color the back lighting is by the box? or do you have to plug it in?
Pretty sure you can tell by the box. I checked the best buy website and they only have the 2013 green ones there. You might get lucky inside a store. Good luck!
I hope I can. Thanks for the help man.
I got mine off of newegg not too long ago. Look for blackwidow ultimate 2012 edition
I'll look but last I checked it wasn't available. Thanks!
There’s So Much Room For Activities
Man I wish they delivered like Amazon. $99 is a bit steep for delivery, and the desk would in no way fit into my car. Ended up renting a truck from Home Depot for $20 just to go pick it up, but it's a great desk.
I've got the same desk and the same keyboard :)
That actually wouldn't be a bad idea for my second monitor. I lug this rig to LAN parties every few months so I probably wouldn't want to attach my main monitor to an arm. (main is a 27" and other is a 24")
Oh man. that looks awesome. -- urge to buy... rising...
I was interested in this table, is it large enough to fit two computers? Im wondering because sometimes my friend comes over to play Starcraft and drink beer with me and it would be better than the two shitty desks.
It's designed in such a way that you can buy a bunch of table frames and tops and put something awesome together. If my wife is up for it, I'd like to extend the left hand side all the way to the other end of the room. You could do something like this and easily fit 2 or more computers.
Ahh nice mic! The blue snowball, correct?
Correct! use it for podcasting and the like and when on TS or whatever it just sits there and picks up my voice perfectly.
Nice! I was thinking of getting the more portable version of it, the Snowflake (lol). Do you happen to have any insight to it?
I've never used one, but I imagine that it would be a great microphone if you wanted something better than a normal headset. I'm sure it's plug and play like the snowball and records at a good quality. Also, more portable that the snowball. When I go to LAN parties I use one of those zalman clip on microphones (and it kinda sucks). Would be nice to have something a little nicer.
I have the same Galant setup as you but with the little half cirlce extension on the left. I also bought the computer mount for underneath, which opens up a little more space above. The wife has her computer on the left and mine is on the right such as yours. The only problem we have is that the chairs get a little close when we are both at the desk. Unlike other IKEA furniture, this table and frame are built very well.
This is the first piece of large Ikea furniture I have purchased and I was pleasantly surprised. The frames are nice and solid, the legs are nice and the top feels sturdy. I think that all put together it's well over 100 pounds. It was also pretty easy to assemble.
I put in 4+ years working in sales at Ikea and Galant is definitely one of the few things I'll go back there to get. It's really one of their best products, value-wise.
Love that desk. I have the rectangle ends, though. :)
Was thinking about getting that exact desk w/ a 3 monitor setup and room for speakers, printer, work, etc. thanks for the pic
It would easily fit 3 monitors. In my pic, the main monitor is a 27" and the other on the left is a 24". I could easily fit a third on the right side. I sometimes setup a laptop to my direct left when I'm working or for monitoring my gaming stream, etc. The small extension on the left would be great for a printer or whatever and there's plenty of room for speakers. Seriously, I couldn't be happier with this thing.
How do you rate your goliathus extended? Im about to pull the trigger on either than or a mionix 900, it's a hard choice.
I like it a lot. I have the control edition because I like a little bit more friction with my mouse. I haven't used the speed version. I also like that it's just the right size for what I need it for. If you haven't used a very large mouse pad like this before, it's nice to have the keyboard sitting on a soft cushion rather than I hard desk. (my opinion of course) It also very clearly defines your space at a LAN party. :) At the last Blizzcon, every machine was equipped with one of these and I liked it so much I ordered one right when I got home. So I've had it for about a year and a half. Previously I had been using an XtracPads Hybrid and still use it at work.
Random question. Where did you get that "cable management" tray thingy from? I know it doesn't come by default on that desk. Just curious!
The cable management thinger is one of the accessories that you can buy at Ikea for this desk and it just screwed into the bottom. It's cool. All my power cables go into it and then a single cable from my power strip drops down and plugs into the wall. There was the shorter one that I bought that was $5 (seriously... cheap. wow.) and one that was twice as long that was $10. I also picked one up for a friend and he's going to use it on his non-ikea desk.
I'm planning to build a gaming setup exactly like that with the same table and cable management, how much did everything cost?
My question is... Where did you get that cable management thingy?
Please answer this guy! That was my first question upon seeing the pictures as well.
Were there any other corner desks you were looking at? What made you go with this one?
Thank you OP. Moving into a studio apartment in a few weeks and was looking for a new desk. This is perfect for my space. Can you comment on assembly? Did you pick it up or have it delivered? How easily does the surface scratch?
Headset into keyboard? Never actually thought of that. Is this common or just some kind of sorcery? I constantly forget I have a USB hub on my keyboard, lol.
I raise you that close to $450 Ikea desk with my $30 Ikea replica desk (exactly the same) that I got from Kijiji. Sometimes it pays to be frugal :P
OP did not pay $450 for that desk.
It was about $350. Your shopping cart there is a little off.
Since you mentioned kijiji, I figure you're in Canada. That's why it's more expensive.
Not a fan of ikea furniture, I'm not a rich man by any means but I'm a "do it or don't" kind of guy.
