Gaming Setup - Computer Setup

Now all you have to do is update Java.
My complete lack of patience for bundled bullshit thanks you.
I think i have the same speakers as you. Just as a tip, maybe try putting them on their sides so they're no hiding behind the monitors.
I just tried that. Couldn't hear any difference for about a minute, then I realised I still have my headphones on. I am not a smart man.
I got them at a surplus store here in Canada for about $40, not sure how much of a difference that is. I find that it looks nicer that having them behind the monitor too.
I refuse to go in that sub because it might make me buy things like this one has.
I think that's pretty reasonable. I put my audio value over the gaming setup, so it's not too scary for me in here... for now
It's just opinion I think, depends on what you prefer
What do you put on the top monitor?
Really digging the grey/black aesthetic. Your cable management is good but could be a bit better. Very nice and clean otherwise.
Thanks! I wasn't too bothered about the speaker cable cos it's a temporary setup - they're the wrong way around until I get an extension.
Personally I would even remove the 17 immediately. Just looks odd compared to the rest of the clean setup.
It's up there for email and stuff so I can work on the 24s without constantly having to alt-tab.
Is that a mousepad for ants!?
Wrong sub. I do need a bigger one, bought this when I started getting hand cramps and needed a wrist rest.
No no, you're mistaken. That's a mousepad for ants.
Thank you. It's a testament to the damn thing that it's still with me after 6 years and 4 moves.
All of the fans died in my P182 last week. I nearly bought a shiny new Corsair box, but then decided that it wouldn't look at cool so I just bought new fans instead. I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it.
I have that same case in my scrap pile. It is freaking heavy, but so awesome.
Only reason I'd be tempted to change it is either for a Define R4 (similar aesthetic & low noise) with a window and show off a really good sleeving job, or a TJ07 and go on water.
I actually upgraded from the Antec P180 to the R4 and LOVE it. It's lighter, and possibly most importantly, QUIETER. Highly recommend getting the R4.
It's not, I have the flat/closed version.
If it's quieter than the P180 without the window I can't see the window making it louder. Thanks.
I have it too. I like it with the exception that the front hinge is pretty weak and broke on mine.
Yeah the plastic filter clips on mine broke, so whenever I open the front they fall out pretty easy.
I also have the same case, only in black. Furthermore, I have the same wallpaper spread across my two monitors; if you switch it left with right it looks like the little guy is jumping between them, might want to try that look as well
Gotta get a new mousepad yo! that thing looks ancient XD
The speakers are an Altec Lansing 2.1 set I picked up for some ridiculous price on clearance. Monitors are a 2407WFP, a 2408WFP and an old E171FP (10 years and still going strong).
I have the same speakers. They aren't very special. Just generic and cheap.
Is that an eclipse 1 keyboard that you have? And if so how is it?
That is definitely a Saitek Eclipse, first time I ever see them and it's twice in one day, first at a jobsite, aaaaaand now its on coolcomputersetups. I tried it out while I was working a little and I have to say... that bastard was mushy, like way worse than the average rubber dome keyboard. Uneven backlighting as well. Could have just been that one from use and abuse I suppose.
Sounds dissapointing. I was wondering I suppose because I used the 2 for quite some time and really liked it.
Mine's not hugely mushy, but it is a bit soft. Backlighting is less even than it used to be too.
The only thing I'm curious about is the mounted monitor(s)? Are the bottom 2 mounted? If so, what's the point?
The feet for the bottom two took up too much room on the desk and made it hard to keep clean.
Where can I buy that desk?
I got it in the office clearance section on Ebay for £50.
"stealthed cables" over the desk,
under the desk, cable mayhem.
Which desk chair do you have? I really want an ergonomic chair but there are so many to choose from, plus the crappy chairs that just have mesh backs.
It's a Herman Miller Aeron. It's the single most comfortable chair I've ever set my rump in.
This. I work from home and game, so I sometimes spend 14 hours a day in it. No more back pain.
Does your seat have any give if you lift it up? Mine creaks and squawks and I cannot remember it doing that when I bought it used. Also, are there washers on the screws which hold the crescent shaped bars?
Mostly silent, tiny bit of give when I lift the seat. No washers.
What is this, a mousepad for ants?
A lot of us like smaller mousepads...since, well, the death of fucking ball mice?
Do you use high sensitivity settings? That mousepad in OP seriously looks like it is barely bigger than the mouse. I used a medium sized mousepad for years but that is honestly the smallest I've ever seen. I like having a larger pad for different sitting positions without having to adjust the mousepad.
Ya I play at a pretty high setting in most games. The only thing I have to base that off of is that all my friends that play on my setup wind up turning the mouse down in most games (fps's usually). But ya, I don't need much mouse room.
Well, personal preference then. I just find it nice to never have to worry about where my mouse is because there is so much room for error. Caught eating cheetos when the shit hits the fan? Panic mouse grab crisis aversion. No problem.
