Second Monitor - Computer Setup

Could just as easily be Liberty Living with those beautiful curtains...
It is infact Unite :)
Looks exactly the same as my first year room. Exactly the same.
Ahh, had strange sense of deja vu for a minute... fuck. That place was horrible. So nice to not be a student and not have to live in shitty houses!
There is no way I could hack living in halls for 3 years. Why?
I generally get along well with most people and the price is always nice when compared to student housing. I am looking forward to my own apartment though eventually because the state the communal area can get annoying if people don't do their bit to tidy.
When our kitchen got too messy I became a recluse and didn't leave my room unless absolutely necessary so I could avoid seeing the mess.
I lived in halls for 5 years. Even now in my big old apartment I find myself keeping 90% of my stuff in my room and just going out into the living room for cooking and laundry.
What model is your trashcan? That thing is SWEET.
Is that a desk that the college provides? Nicest college owned desk I've seen.
Yep, it feels really high quality too. The company that provide the accommodation is independant to the University, they're also the primary living accommodation for the UK :)
What brand is your alarm clock?
Shop's own from Tesco, nothing special but it does the job.
Sheffield? my room was exactly the same, except I had a single bed.
Yep :D Forge, as far as I'm aware all the rooms have 3/4 size beds.
Holy shit, I move in on the 19th!
Awesome, I'm in Block A.
I was at the forge block H or G, no all singles in my halls.
The poor pc has no room behind it D: the air flow is lacking..(im unfamiliar with that case so i apologize if im wrong)_
It's the Coolermaster HAF 912, there's a small fan intake on the left and a 20cm fan out on the top. I've also made sure there is enough space at the back, I do have limited space so it's really all I can manage. Yes it's not perfect but it doesn't cause any issues :)
Yep same with mine. Never had any issues with overheating.
Which FFXIV server are you on? That's a nice setup.
My character is Falconer Tal on Cerberus (EU).
I only have a computer and I don't even game that much, do you honestly use all those gaming systems? o.0
I personally enjoy the exclusives on the consoles, I'm also on a Games Programming course so it all kinda links in together.
Shit son this is still way too much equipment for that haha. Good for you toke on bro
Actually not at all -.- Just used to saying it haha
Wait, 3rd year GSD student?
Sorry but what does AoT mean?
Oh i thought that was attack on titan background
Looks like an FFXIV background
Ahhh Unite. Recognise that furniture.
Upvote for the ffxiv wallpaper
I have that exact same alarm clock, and the weather looks fairly shite outside. Ireland, OP?
Another vespula owner! How do you like it? My razer logo sadly rubbed off
Really nice, there is a scratch on the surface which is annoying to catch but my hand's learned to avoid it over time :)
Sweet dorm, hope to be decorating mine nicely as well. I don't think I'd get any work done if I had your stuff tho (easily distracted)
That is indeed a plate of green apples.
Is there any particular reason as to why your second monitor is way smaller than your main one? Just curious haha
I'd guess it's a budget based decision.
Or he just had the small one first. I certainly couldn't just go throwing out perfectly good monitors because they were a little smaller.
I run the same case, what do you think of yours?
No complaints, had it a year with no issues.
Just curious, but what is the larger monitor's model? I just ordered an Asus PB278Q the other day, can't wait for it to arrive tomorrow.
Samsung UE32F5000. It's actually a TV but in the settings there's an option to optimise for PC HDMI Out and has no noticable difference to a PC monitor.
How do you like that headset? for gaming is mostly what im wondering about. im looking into it for some fps gaming
It's really comfortable and has a clear audio range. You're able to hear footsteps from around you in an FPS game :)
I hope you keep most of that stuff out of the way, your room locked, have the serial numbers or have them insured. I lived in halls for a year and people in other blocks lost a lot of stuff from not being ultra careful. Most people are good, but some take advantage and none students did break in occasionally. That been said, living in halls was awesome in my first year of Uni, we caused so much chaos, me and the guys downstairs had a prank war going on, which was fun as hell.
Yep, it's always locked and everything is covered by insurance. That wasbmy first concern before moving everything in.
Can I ask what your job is?
How do you afford all that as well a tuition? bravo sir
All that gaming consoles.. I bet that you'll laugh at all ur friends who want exclusive titles on their console.
Being in student halls there aren't any bills aside from the rent which isn't too bad now i have a job.
Do the people in the rooms directly opposite get up to any zany hijinks?
How do you have a Grey 3DS XL? Is that from a bundle or is it a case mod? I haven't seen that in the US before.
I live in the UK, from Amazon and not any special bundle.
How do you plan on keeping all your stuff secure? I wanna bring my $2000 PC and an Xbox but it's highly unlikely I can without figuring out a way to make sure no one steals it. (I room with one person and have 2 other suite mates)
It's just me in my roomand my door is always locked when I'm not there. Everything is also insured by a company called Endsleigh who do good student deals. I don't know how it is in America but you'd need to trust your roommate.
This might sound like an odd question, but how far do you have to transport your setup (PC, monitors, accessories) to your uni? For my first semester I left my setup back home but I'm definitely going to want it for semester 2.
I have a real job and can't afford ... everything!
What's that next to the PSP?
That my friend, is a sweet 3DS XL.
