Size Monitor - Computer Setup

Agreed. I hate having ANYTHING on mine. Except I throw my recycle bin right dead in the middle.
I don't even have recycle bin on my desktop. Gets in the way of my wallpaper.
Looks nice a simple, I like it! How do you feel about the keyboard?
I really like it, had a Razer Black Widow 2013 (mx blues), but exchanged it for the G710+ with mx browns. IMO much nicer to type on, perfect for gaming and typing. Also, it came pre-installed with rubber o-ring dampeners under the keys, which you can remove if you want, for a more tactile sound/feel. Looks pretty cool too.
Why didnt you go with a Blackwidow Stealth? It has MX Browns.
I have the 2012 Blackwidow and I like it enough, but I have been wanting to try this out. Thanks for the feedback!
It's a Mad Catz RAT 3, noted in the Imgur description.
I have the same keyboard. I've had it since christmas (love my GF), and it's the best keyboard I've ever owned!
I got a thing for wide screens. Nice.
I gotta say it. Too many icons on your desktop. Use a launcher, especially if they are games (like Steam). I use the Steam launcher for non-Steam games as well, like Minecraft.
You know you can hide those desktop icons right? Nothing kills a wallpaper faster than having half a screen full of icons.
Bought mine on a whim because I liked the thumb rest, turned out to be the best mouse I've owned in a very long time, might upgrade to the RAT 5 or RAT 7 for the pinky rest but Im happy with it for the moment
I used the R.A.T 5 for years and loved the crap out of it. I use it on my Second PC now and it is still an awesome mouse.
Holy crap yes! not to mention that extra scroll wheel (on the 7) I use as a rapid clicker.
Love the feel of them but had two rat 7s die on me so I'm sticking with my cheap Gigabyte mouse for now.
What's it like using a TV for a monitor? I really like the way that looks and have been wanting to do that myself
Haven't looked back since getting it! This particular model has a very low response time for a HDTV (around ~14ms) making it great for gaming. The colour saturation and sharpness have been adjusted to my preferences and it looks excellent. I sit about 3 - 4 feet away, I was worried about pixel desnity at this distance, but 32 inches is just perfect as you can't see any individual pixels or anything like that and the picture quality is as sharp as anything. You will, however, need to turn up your in-game anti-aliasing settings with a screen this size/resolution though, if you are prone to noticing those things.
Great stuff. Thanks for the input
Have you tried using a monitor with it? I used to game on a 1080p HDTV (Toshiba) before I could afford a nice monitor. It was a very big difference. I am currently using a 27" Asus 1080p 144 Hz model. Everything is fluid and real, much less input lag. Its painful to use the TV for anything but Netflix or Youtube now (still attached as a backup monitor).
But that is like 3x the response time of even cheap "gaming" monitors.
If you can notice 6 - 8 ms of response time then you are a superhero.
What type of headset is that? I'm in the market for a new one and that one looks like it would be decent.
Trust me, don't waste your money on a gaming headset. Get a good pair of headphones and a mod mic or a zalman clip on mic
I would but I like to get up and walk around with my headset still on and talk to my friends on skype. I am going to be getting me a Blu Yeti when I get the chance for audio and I will use that for a mic.
I'm used to spelling Blue without the e on the end oops lol But here is the Blue Yeti It's a USB Microphone and only seen good reviews about it. I've been wanting one for a while especially if I'm going to be working with Audio a lot.
I want to still be able to get up and move around my house while talking to people on Skype. The Blue Yeti would be more for voice overs and audio clips and things.
Get a cheap wireless headset for that use (bluetooth even?) and have a good pair of cans for everything else.
Don't have bluetooth on my computer. But having another good pair wouldn't be a bad idea. What kind would you suggest?
Corsair Vengeance 2000. They've released the updated version (2100) this month I think. Very good sound quality with a bit of tweaking in the equalizer. The drivers out for Win 8.1 are a bit funky right now, but I'm sure they'll sort them out soon, especially since the new ones were just released. Battery life is good, can be used whilst charging etc. Very good value for money
Thanks for the update! Right now I'm currently using an Afterglow Wireless Headset. It's okay. It will only reach to about the edge of my kitchen and I don't live in a large house. Also the sound randomly fades unless I'm on skype with someone. It looks like the 2100 has gotten decent reviews so I'll be sure to have to get one when I get the chance. Thanks again for the update.
I picked up the 2100 around black Friday and I have had no issues with it so far. Great sound and the mic is good also. I have a fairly small apartment but the range has not been an issue. I can walk anywhere in the apartment without a loss of signal. There are many 2.4GHz signals in my complex and I have had no issues with interference. Its a great deal if your looking for wireless headset for gaming. My only other competitor when I was searching was the turtle beach px5 so you might want to look into that. Good luck on your search.
I will give it a look as well. Thanks for your help!
Is that the Fractal R4 case?
As for the desktop icons, they reflect my underlying general untidiness. You should all be proud to see that corner of my room looking so tidy!
On an unrelated topic, what is the depth of the desk ? I'm making my own desk ...
You must be a poor college student
I'm not OP, but I have it, and love it. It's got cherry mx brown mechanical keys. Good resistance, and a satisfying "give" when you reach a certain point during the press. Pretty quiet too, which I think is pretty important. No annoying (to me) click like you get with cherry mx blue switches. It's got some nice lighting options, sufficient media controls, on-the-fly macro programming, gaming mode button (disables windows key), and a usb port. I definitely recommend.
I also recommend, I love the Cherry MX Browns, and I love the build quality in mine; it also has O-rings already included.
Does the G710+ have a microphone mute button?
What lights are you using in your case. That is pretty much exactly how I want mine to look.
I'm thinking of that case for my first build. How do you like it? Any problems?
Cool. Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to check them both out.
Cool setup! If you dont mind. What kond of monitor is that? What are the specs? And how much did it cost you
Samsung 32 inch 1080p HDTV, running at 1920 x 1080, via HDMI, 60hz refresh rate and around 14 ms response time, bought it around 12 months ago for £260
What size monitor is that? 27"?
Nice, i really love the case, would you mind telling me what the name of the case is or sending me a link to it.
Lol your fractal looks nearly exactly like mine ;)
Why display peasantries in your gaming setup? Lord GabeN would not approve. Plebian.
Toolbars are your friend, it'll help clean up your desktop significantly
Can someone tell me what speakers those are?? i know those are logitech and ive seen that volume/bass control pad he has? z series maybe?? any help would be great thanks so much
Really love the wall mounted display, will probably do it myself too!
Why do you prop your tower up instead of putting it under your desk? I'm not criticizing, just wondering. I'm new to desktops
My room is arranged in such a way that the most convenient place to put the tower in order to cable-manage everything would be to the right of the table. Also, I have a subwoofer under the desk taking space already and I need room to stretch my legs haha
I can see the pixels on that TV from here. And the color is atrocious. Get a real monitor.
